Representatives from Diaverum’s Medical and Nursing management teams came together recently for the 2024 Annual Medical Meeting. The two-day event was held in Madrid, Spain - one of the largest markets in our global network - which also hosted this year’s Diaverum Awards Finalists’ Ceremony.
Presided over by Diaverum CMO, Dr Fernando Macário, the Annual Medical Meeting offered an engaging platform in which delegates from our 24 markets and the Corporate team discussed the medical & digital strategies, that enable Diaverum to be a leading global provider of renal care services.
Day 1: Wednesday, 16 October
CEO Dimitris Moulavasilis opened the session with an overview of Diaverum's strategy for the next five years, exploring how digitalisation has the potential to support equitable care delivery for our patients, worldwide. Fernando further expanded on this, reflecting on the transformative journey of Diaverum's Care Delivery Model over the past six years.
Suzanne Pearce, Corporate Nursing Director and Meshal Alkhulayfi, Nursing Manager Saudi Arabia, followed with a compelling presentation entitled "Social determinants of health". Next up, the Corporate Medical Team provided an update on patient-centric digital innovations, while an interactive session led by Meshal, Nadica Misovska, Country Medical Director and Sokica Gegovska, Nursing Director (North Macedonia), Shaira Martínez, Medical Director (Spain) and Mónica Silva, Nursing Director (Portugal) - offered a thought-provoking discussion on innovative strategies for improving patient care.
Day 2: Thursday, 17 October
Thursday's agenda saw a number of delegates from M42 join discussions. Adam Griffiths, Director of Clinical Operations for the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), provided an insightful overview of the centre's services across diabetes, obesity and endocrinology. Meanwhile, Vidya Velagapudi, PhD, gave an engaging presentation on the role of precision medicine in modern healthcare.
The day also featured presentations from our country teams, who shared updates on their unique opportunities to enhance clinical outcomes and diversify Diaverum's services.
